Geography
At St. John’s C of E (VA), Cliviger, we follow the National Curriculum Programme of Study for Geography.
We believe that geography should provide opportunities for children to explore and develop an understanding of the world around us and our place in the world. It should aim to develop an appreciation of the diversity and richness of our culture and other cultures. We aim to give the opportunity to develop an understanding of the environment and issues affecting it, for example climate change, plastics in the ocean, recycling etc. Geography should allow the pupils of our school to view themselves as global neighbours and global citizens.
We follow the Learning Challenge Curriculum and adapt these to fit with our own Adventurous Afternoons.
Geography Long Term Plan
Journeying on a personal path with ourselves, others, the world and God. This is linked strongly to our Christian Values so we can live life in all its fullness.
