Here at St John’s we believe that high quality Religious Education (RE) is the key to enabling every child to flourish. We are committed to using high quality resources that will provide teachers with the knowledge and skills they need to ensure that the children experience the best RE curriculum. By embracing the explicit teaching of Christian concepts and God’s big salvation story, it is hoped that pupils will gain a deeper understanding of Christianity. In addition, pupils explore all major world faiths and discuss world views where appropriate.
Whoever we are, wherever we live, whether we are a person of faith or not, we all have a view on the world. Nobody stands nowhere.
Journeying on a personal path with ourselves, others, the world and God. This is linked strongly to our Christian Values so we can live life in all its fullness.

Dhol Drumming
These drums are traditionally from India and we found out that they were used to mark the start of Harvest and for farmers working. They are now used in traditional Indian family celebrations like weddings.
Bhangra Dance
This style of dance came from Punjabi farmers and was used for celebrations. We heard the Dhol drums in the background! Some of our Muslim faith friends used this style of dance at parties.
Bethany Choir Project
We strive to use our environment to enhance our RE lessons.
Supporting local, national and international charities is something we like to do at Cliviger.
Class Charities
We like to act out bible stories and use a magic microphone to find out what characters are thinking and feeling.
Using our church is an important part of our RE curriculum.
We have visitors from other faiths and trips out to places of worship from other faiths.
We make RE as creative and interactive as we can!
We often take part in RE Experience Days. where the classrooms are set up to provide specific learning opportunities linked to Christmas and Easter. We have lots of other RE Experience Days planned for next year!
We try and use our values in all that we do.
