Welcome to Reception!
In Reception we love to learn by exploring and investigating through hands on activities. This helps us to develop our own thoughts and feelings about the world around us. It is important for us to share, show love and kindness towards each other.
The class teachers are Mrs Kenny & Mrs Pickup, and the class teaching assistant is Mrs Stockburn.

Class Information
These are the end of year expectations for EYFS children. Children will either achieve the Early Learning Goals (Expected), or be working towards them (Emerging):
If you want to ask anything or send any photographs please email ourschool@cliviger.com.
Each week we will put on the activities which the children will be learning in class. This will help you as parents to reinforce the work which we have covered in class. So for example if we were learning about money you could practise using coins whilst out shopping, when learning about 2D shapes you might hunt for them on a family walk, etc.
Week Beginning 2nd February:
Numeracy - We are looking at numbers 6, 7, 8, finding one more and one less.
Literacy - This week we are looking at a non-fiction text, and labelling pictures in our writing.
RE - We are learning about stories Jesus told, and we are going to find out about the Good Samaritan.
This week Year 6 are going to work with us in our PE lesson, to work on the fundamental skills. It is also the EYFS drop in on Tuesday and Thursday.
To foster a love of reading, your child can start to bring in their favourite story books for our ‘Recommendation Station’, which we will read at story time to the class.

This week we have changed phonic groups, so Mrs Stockburn’s group is now with Mrs Kenny/ Mrs Pickup, and vice versa. Please ask if you are unsure.
