Activities this Week:
Literacy - In phonics we will learn the following phonemes.
Mrs Kenny/ Mrs Pickup’s group - consolidating s, a, t, p, i, n, m, d, g.
Mrs Stockburn’s group - phonemes (sounds) ck, e, u and tricky words ‘the’ & ‘I’. The phoneme (sound) ‘ck’ is a digraph, which means it has two letters to represent one phoneme (sound). A tricky word is a word we can not sound out, and just have to remember.
Numeracy - We are learning to find 1 less than, and using words to recognise and describe circles and triangles.
PSHE - We are learning about feelings, and developing the children’s language skills to help them name different feelings and emotions.
RE - We are finding out about why Christians think Jesus is a special person, and we will look at some of the miracles he performed.
Understanding the World - We will begin our work on Remembrance Day, making poppies in continuous provision, and discuss our experiences of bonfire night. Thank you for all the pictures you sent it!
Our new writing patter (below) can also be found under the ‘Reading & Writing’ tab.
