Home Schooling (if required)

Hello everyone, Happy New Year.

Unfortunately as you are now aware we are now needing to use the home learning section for those children who are unable to attend school over the coming weeks. We will be covering the same content and topics in class so when we do reunite as a class, everyone will have covered the same learning. The English and Maths lessons follow on from one another so it is important to do the work in the order that it is set out on the website. For those children who are in for part of the week, please complete the work from the days when you are not in school.

If pupils are finding an activity too difficult, please do not worry. I know also that many of you will be balancing working with home schooling. While it is vital that children continue to work, please only do as much as you can and don't worry about the things that you aren’t able to do (there are more activities than you may need).

Keep an eye on the Year 3 page for more updates and further activity suggestions. Please email me using the contact form if you have any questions.

I hope you and your families stay safe and well,

Mr Spencer and Mrs Hesketh

This week’s timetable

I have put together a timetable below setting out when we are doing the lessons in class and I have listed on here the timings for the various Zoom lessons and worships.

Other activities:

  • Purple Mash: I will add some activities to the children’s 2Dos - these are optional, extra activities unless stated that they are linked to another topic or lesson.
  • Times Tables: Rockstars and Mad Minutes. In school we will continue to do our weekly mad minutes quiz on a Friday. I have added the grids for these below if you want to practise and take part at home.
  • Spelling: Sir Linkalot spelling app, Y3/4 spelling list and weekly spellings in the homework section. We will have spelling tests in school as usual on a Friday, you can take part at home if you want to and let me know your score!
  • Reading: Oxford Owl website, reading activities on Purple Mash and any other books at home.
  • Handwriting
