Trip to Manchester University and the Museum of Science & Industry

On Wednesday 19th March year 6 visited the Museum of Science & Industry in Manchester and learnt about the processes and machinery involved in the local cotton industry as well as how the mills were powered. In the afternoon we went to The University of Manchester and after meeting some undergraduates we learnt about different areas of science and research that are being studied there. We learnt about graphene the thinnest material in the world, how to measure the breaking strength of chocolate, fluid flows and how to program lego robots.
